California......knows how to party. Part I

On July 10, my peeps and I went to California. This is something we do every year. We go out and visit my sister Jamie. It's a great time. Jamie lives in Santa Monica. We started it off by eating at our favorite mexican place. Baja Fresh.

After our snack we went shopping around town. The one place that we were so excited about was Pinkberry. This is a place where you get fat free yogurt and then add your own toppings. I really enjoyed the raspberries, blueberries and chocolate chips. We LOVED this place. We had one everyday we were there.

Seriously it was so good. People call it Crackberry--because you become so addicted. This is totally true.

Next place.. The Cave or as Speidy (Heidi and Spencer from the Hills) likes to call it.. Don Antonios. Again mexican food. Very good stuff.

Then we hit a popular cupcake joint called Sprinkles. A lot of celebrities enjoy these tastey little cakes. (no celeb sightings here..but stay tuned) My favorite is the lemon coconut..but I like them all.

After the cupcakes.
More pics soon.

Another warm summer evening...

We sure have enjoyed the family get togethers that we have been having. We have been going up to Midway for a little BBQ and last time we had quite the feast. This time everyone was able to join us. What a great time!

Of course there were s'mores! and lots of instruction on how to make the perfect s'more.

And we can't forget the group song, "The Gambler". It was so much fun. I love being outdoors.

4th of July

What's more American then baseball?

The group headed to watch the Bees take on Arizona. The Bees lost but we had fun anyway.

There were so many people there it was crazy. We went to get a drink and popcorn and missed the 2, 3 and 1/2 of the 4 innings. It was crazy. After the game, they shoot off fireworks. They put on a pretty good show.

Everyone who had lawn seats, moves out onto the field to watch the fireworks. I think they had the best seat in the house.

When they started the fireworks, we thought that we had great seats. What we did not realize was that there was a cover over our seats, which totally blocked our view. We decided we had better seats in our car, so we watched fireworks from the car and missed all the traffic. (yes the stop sign was on purpose--again better view from the street)Until next year. (I bought a new camera, I was trying out lots of different shots.)

Kenny and Vegas

Never wanted nothing more.
Kenny and Vegas, what could be better? At least for that weekend there was nothing better. We started the trip by staying in St. George with the Grandparents. That is always a good time.

Friday morning we headed to the big city. After the shopping, it was Kenny time. The concert was held at the MGM Grand and after a 30 minute walk, (no I'm not kidding) we arrived.

LeeAnn Rimes opened for Kenny. She did a good job. We are all envious of her legs..long and lean. Then it was Kenny...

He always puts on a good show. We are never disappointed with him. We decided that no matter how much he costs we will always go see Kenny. After the concert, we always have key lime pie, in honor of Kenny.

I still can't get enough of Kenny. I have not taken out his CD since the concert. It's addicting.

The next day, it was breakfast and hanging out at the pool.

On Sunday after hitting a buffet, it was time to head for home. We had a great time. Can't wait for next year.

On a warm summer's evening...

Ok it wasn't that warm, but we had fun anyway. Last week we had a BBQ up at my aunt and uncle's house in Midway. Most people felt it was too cold to stay out and roast the dogs over the fire. Only the die-hards stayed outside. Ryan was the first to go inside. (light-weight)

My cousins, Ryan, Errol, (Melissa's husband), Melissa and Erika. Dad and Mom. They got cold and quickly went inside.

We were ready and excited and the evening actually got really nice. We also sang around the fire. Errol's personal fav: The Gambler. (a little off key and missed a few verses, but still it cracked me up)

As the night went on we got ready for s'mores. This was how Errol fixed up a s'more. We had to melt the chocolate while we were toasting the marshmallows, this way everything we hot and melted. It was a great idea.

This was the way of the city folk. They did their s'mores over the stove. I don't think their s'mores tasted as good as mine done by the fire. Especially with Errol's contraption. We had so much fun laughing and playing with the fire, we can't wait to do it again. Lisa and Emily will have to be sure to make it next time. (Lisa was sick and had to miss, Emily had a wedding reception to go to0

Wasting money

I am loving that school is out. It's like the best thing ever. I went shopping for a new swimsuit, because we (sisters and cousin) are headed to Vegas for the Kenny Chesney concert. We are so excited. And Lisa has a new camera so she will be taking LOTS of pictures.

Also, another side note. Bret Micheals just released his solo album, Rock my World. Yes, I am embarrassed to admit it but I did tune in occasionally to Rock my World. It was enough to sell me on his cd. I just made the purchase. Thanks itunes! Jamie, this picture is for you as well! Love that hat.
